Welcome to the East Kent Engineering Partnership

In June 2007 agreement was reached by the East Kent Chief Executives to progress formal partnership working between Canterbury CC, Dover DC, Shepway DC, Thanet DC plus Swale BC with regard to their coastal engineering responsibilities. It was also agreed that as the partnership develops and evolves the opportunity for the integration of non coastal engineering work and schemes should also be progressed. A Memorandum of Understanding was later agreed and signed by the partner Chief Executives setting out the aims and working arrangements of the partnership.

The Partnership has now been running for three years and it is timely to review the progress of partnership work to date, particularly with respect to best practice issues and also to look ahead to the challenges it faces over the next few years.
