Shoreline Management Plan - South Foreland to Beachy Head SMP ReviewA Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) provides a large-scale assessment of the risks associated with coastal evolution and presents a policy framework to address these risks to people and the developed, historic and natural environment in a sustainable manner. In doing so, an SMP is a high-level document that forms an important part of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) strategy for flood and coastal defence (Defra, 2001). South Foreland to Beachy Head SMP - First Review This document provides the first revision to the original South Foreland to Beachy Head SMP (1996). It was launched on 15th May 2007. ---------------------------------------------- Action Plan - South Foreland to Beachy Head SMP - Second Review The Action Plan identifies the steps to be taken in the period up to the next review of the SMP. This is normally a 5 to 10 year process, however the plan recognises that there may be a reassessment of this timescale should an earlier review be considered necessary. |
